There’s an old African proverb that says, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Though short in words, it carries a deep truth that still speaks powerfully to us today.
Raising children is not a solo mission it’s a shared responsibility that involves parents, families, teachers, neighbors, and the church working together to shape the next generation.
At Crossroad Worship Center, we believe the village represents the body of Christ — a community of faith where love, guidance, and accountability flow freely. Every child is a gift from God, and every adult has a role to play in nurturing that gift.
Whether it’s through teaching in Passion Kids, mentoring a teenager, or simply offering encouragement to a young parent, each act of support helps build a foundation of faith, strength, and character in our children.
When a child sees unity, love, and consistency within their community, they learn that they are not alone. They discover belonging. They gain confidence. And most importantly, they see a reflection of God’s love through the people around them.
As we continue to grow in Allendale and beyond, let’s recommit ourselves to being the village — one that protects, prays for, and pours into the next generation. Our future depends on the seeds we plant in the hearts of our children today.
“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.”— Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
